Adenoidectomy

Removal of Adenoids is performed through the mouth, under general anaesthesia. The patient is discharged home a few hours later, and typically there is no significant pain or other symptom. In cases where there is also secretory otitis (glue ear) or accumulation of fluid behind the ear drum), adenoidectomy is combined with placement of ventilation tubes in the affected ears.
