During the operation, via an incision behind the ear, the cartilage is incised, shaped and secured, so the missing crease is created, pulling the pinna to its normal position.<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>After the age of 5, the development of the pinna has completed, and surgical intervention is allowed. It is generally recommended that surgical correction is done as soon as possible, in order to avoid possible problems of the child at school. Through an incision behind the ear, the cartilage is incised, shaped and secured in place with stitches. The result is immediately evident and permanent.
