Special microsurgical instruments are used, along with micro-cutting powered instruments (microdebriders or shavers), which allow removal of pathology with minimal damage to the surrounding tissues (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery \u2013 FESS). Furthermore, modern image guidance systems increase the effectiveness and safety of the procedure, projecting the tip of the specially calibrated instrument in 3 dimensions in the preoperative ct-scan of the patient.<\/div><div><br \/>Endoscopic Surgery of the nose has converted the traditional heavy operations of the area into day-surgery procedures. The operation is completed through the nostrils, and therefore does not leave visible scars on the face.
